Warriors to get reduced earnings for World Cup qualifiers

The Warriors are set to get ZW$200 in appearance fees for their World Cup qualifier against Somalia next month.

Winning bonuses have been pegged at ZW$1 000 and for a draw, it will be ZW$500. The players will get ZW$75 for daily allowances during the camp at home but the amount is increased to ZW$785 on foreign soil.

The money is a mere fraction of what the team pocketed per game at the Afcon tournament. The earnings which amounted to US$5 000 in appearance fees were, however, a subject of controversy during the campaign as Zifa failed to release the money on time.

The reduced earnings are some of the austerity measures introduced by the association meant to cut spending.
