Defenders cost us victory: CAPS coach

CAPS United coach Darlington Dodo believes his side gave away the victory after drawing 3-3 against Bulawayo Chiefs on Saturday.

The Green Machine conceded two of the goals from defensive blunders and had to come from behind all the time to restore parity.

Speaking after the match, Dodo said: “I think we gave away two points with the way we defended today, we were so porous, and it was bad.

“The way we played in the first half, we were out of sorts, and we did not do anything that deserved us to win the game.

“When we regrouped at half-time, we tried to put our act together and there was a change.”

Hugh Chikosa opened the scoring in the 13th minute, converting from the spot to give Chiefs an early lead.

Makepekepe equalised on minute 28 through Joel Ngodzo but the parity did not last long as Shadreck Nyahwa capitalised on a defensive mix-up to restore the hosts’ lead.

John Zhuwawu scored his first goal on the hour before completing his brace ten minutes later. Chikosa also got his second of the day but in between Zhuwawu’s goals.
