End of the road for Mandla Mpofu and co

Mandla Mpofu’s future at Highlanders has come to an end if the three-match ultimatum given to him by the club is to be considered.

Mpofu and his assistants – Bekithemba Ndlovu and goalkeepers’ trainer Tembo Chuma – were told to get a minimum of six points from the games against Triangle United, Mushowani Stars and Hwange to save their jobs.

But as it stands now, that will be impossible to achieve following a goalless draw against Mushowani on Sunday, and having lost 2-1 to Triangle on Thursday.

Mpofu was appointed the head coach in July after the departure of Madinda Ndlovu, and since taking over, he managed to pick nine points from a possible 24, which is a 37.05 %success rate.
