Chitembwe slams Rhinos after first defeat at City

Harare City coach Lloyd Chitembwe has slammed Black Rhinos for employing dirty tricks in their encounter on Sunday.

Rhinos won the match 1-0, thanks to an 88th-minute strike by Wisdom Mutasa.

But the result didn’t convince Chitembwe who blamed their opponents for locking them up before the game simply to frustrate them.

“It’s sad and very disappointing, and what makes it worse is when the coaches are involved in these things,” said Chitembwe after the game. “It becomes worrying especially for some of us who are professionals.

“This is probably the reason our football in Zimbabwe is not growing.

“It doesn’t get us anywhere, and I think it’s a shame if coaches think in that way.”

Harare City finished the game with ten-man after Ishmael Wadi received a red card while Rhinos goalkeepers’ coach Britto Gwere was also expelled from the technical bench.

The result, meanwhile, handed Chitembwe’s first defeat since appointed the Sunshine Boys’ head coach last month.
