Le Havre refuse to release Kadewere for Warriors game

French Ligue 2 side Le Havre has refused to release Tinotenda Kadewere for the World Cup qualifier against Somalia after Zifa sent the request to have the player late.

The association was supposed to inform the club at least two weeks before the Warriors game.

But the provisional squad was only named late last week after the appointment of Joey Antipas as the national team’s interim coach.

According to the Herald, Kadewere, who has scored 9 goals in six games in France, will be replaced by Golden Arrows striker Knox Mutizwa .

Khama Billiat will also miss the fixture due to an injury and Chicken Inn winger Sipho Ndlovu has been named in his place.

Zimbabwe will play Somalia in Djibouti on Thursday in the preliminary round of the qualifiers. The second leg is on Sunday at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.
