Agent explains why Billiat decided to stay at Kaizer Chiefs

Khama Billiat’s agent Mike Ngobeni of M-Sport Management has explained why the player decided to stay at Kaizer Chiefs despite interest from other clubs including his former team Mamelodi Sundowns.

Billiat who joined Amakhosi at the start of last season was linked with an early exit at the Soweto Giants.

Several North African sides enquired about the midfielder while Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane confirmed the club’s interest in the 29-year-old Zimbabwe international.

But after the transfer window closed on Monday, Ngobeni has explained what has been going behind the scenes about the player.

“Khama is happy at Chiefs, and he still wants to win trophies with the club, and that’s why he decided to stay,” Ngobeni explained, according to IOL.

“The player stated clearly that he had no intention of leaving Chiefs because he still wants to win something (with the team).”

Meanwhile, Billiat’s progress has been plagued by injuries so far this season. He has picked up another injury, two weeks after recovering from a knock he sustained in the pre-season.
