Muskwe doubtful for clash against Somalia

Warriors striker Admiral Muskwe is racing against time to fully recover from a groin injury he picked in the first leg of the World Cup qualifier against Somalia last week.

The Leicester City forward was subbed off in the second half of the tie following a relatively quiet outing and has since resumed training.

Speaking to the Herald, Muskwe said he would love to play today but was waiting for advice from the doctors.

“Obviously, I want to play in these big games and, hopefully, I will be ready for this one, but me and the doctor will sit down and talk about it,” he said.

The 21-year-old believes the team still has a wide chance to progress to the next round despite trailing 1-0 on aggregate.

“It is only halfway, the first leg was played away and now we are playing at home, we just need to get the job done and I am very confident it can be done.

“I have confidence in the players, and the team, that we will get the job done comfortably,” he added.

The encounter is scheduled for this afternoon at the National Sports Stadium in Harare. Kick-off is at 3 pm.
