Police finds no case against Kamambo-led Zifa board -Report

Police have reportedly found no evidence against the Felton Kamambo-led Zifa board after the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) had reported a case of misappropriation of public funds by the association.

SRC director-general Prince Mupazviriho wrote to CID – Commercial Crimes Division, seeking their assistance in investigating ZIFA for the period covering November 2018 up to now.

But according to the Chronicle newspaper, police’s preliminary investigations have found no evidence and the said funds were disbursed on the advice from Fifa.

However, the law enforcers are still making their probe on other possible “crime scenes” to determine if they could have been misuse of public or government funds by Zifa, reported the newspaper.

The Kamambo-led adminstration has at many times been summoned by the authorities, and recently, Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry did so after the Mighty Warriors boycotted their Olympic qualifier against Zambia citing unpaid allowances.
