Zim defender Adam Chicksen joins Bolton Wanderers

Zimbabwean defender Adam Chicksen signed for English League One side Bolton Wanderers over the weekend in a short-term deal which ends in January.

The 27-year-old was one of the eleven players released by Bradford City following their relegation from the League One at the end of the 2018/19 season.

He was one of six debutants in the starting line-up for Bolton’s away game against Rotherham on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Chicksen who has one cap for Zimbabwe has faced challenges to secure a local passport.

Warriors manager Wellington Mpandare says he is hopeful the player along with the likes of Macauley Bonne (Charlton Athletic) and Kundai Benyu (Helsingborgs IF) will be available for selection soon.

“And I can tell you that by November before those forthcoming (Afcon qualifiers) games, the guys will have their documents ready and available for selection, I am hopeful,” said Mpandare in an interview with H-Metro.
