Warriors slump to worst FIFA Ranking in 2019

The Warriors have slumped to their lowest FIFA Ranking this year after falling six places to number 118.

The national team was in action in the just ended international break where they featured in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

The Joey Antipas side lost 1-0 to Africa’s second lowest-ranked team, Somalia in the first leg of the preliminary round fixture but managed to overcome in the second leg, winning 3-1 to progress to the next round.

The victory made no effect, however, on the World Ranking as the team slumped by a big margin.The new position is also Zimbabwe’s worst ranking since the August 2018 release. In African, meanwhile, they have fallen two places to number 29.

On Somalia’s side, meanwhile, it’s all good news as they have moved three places up in the world to number 199.

Senegal remains the top team on the continent while Belgium maintained their top spot in the world.
