Kamambo reveals plans he has for Zimbabwean football

Zimbabwe Football Association president Felton Kamambo has revealed the plans he has for the country’s football, insisting his adminstration will it steer it to the right direction.

The current ZIFA board has come under severe scrutiny from fans of the game and even the SRC for allegations of misappropriation of funds and corruption, emananting from the Warriors’ disastrous AFCON 2019 campaign, something which Kamambo totally disagrees with based on the ambitions he has.

“We applied for these projects (the building of a new stadium, high performance centre and hotel to accomodate national teams during camps) to FIFA and they have granted us these projects,’’ said Kamambo according to The Herald.

“What we did was that we had to engage FIFA because if ever we are going to do these projects there is this animal called legacy debt which is always hovering on top of us. If we are to start any project, it will come and garnish the money and we are back to square one.” he added.

Kamambo also revealed that there will soon be a meeting when all football stakeholders, including his critics, will be invited for a round table talk on where they feel the association should improve.

“We are going to invite all football stakeholders. The invitations will come in the next two weeks. We want to make sure that everyone who loves soccer, and is prepared to help take our football to greater heights, must attend and share with us their expectations,” he said.
