S.A based Zim players round-up

Golden Arrows striker Knox Mutizwa was on target over the weekend when he scored a late spot-kick which helped salvaged a point against Cape Town City in the ABSA Premiership.

Mutizwa came from the bench and stepped up to equalize from 12 yards with three minutes left of play as his side moved into the fifth position with nine points.

Goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda started in goals for Arrows but failed to keep a clean sheet. Left-back Devine Lunga and midfielder Danny ‘Deco’ Phiri also featured in the match and played the whole game.

On Saturday, SuperSport United defender Onismo Bhasera was sent off in the first half in 3-1 defeat to Polokwane City.

Bhasera was adjudged to have made a crude challenge on Sibusiso Hlubi, and his red card proved costly for coach Kaitano Tembo and his team. The gaffer was forced to take out winger Kudakwashe Mahachi at half-time as a tactical change.

Evans Rusike played the entire ninety minutes but his contribution was overshadowed by the team’s performance.

City’s Walter Musona came on as a second-half substitute in the match while goalkeeper George Chigova did not play as he is currently in Zimbabwe, attending the funeral of his father.

Elsewhere, Baroka keeper Elvis Chipezeze conceded two goals against Highlands Park.

Kevin Moyo played the entire ninety minutes in Chippa United’s goalless draw against Bloemfontein Celtic while his twin brother Elvis was not part of the match-day squad.

Celtic fullback Ronald Pfumbidzai was also not part of the action. He recently signed a contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2023.
