Kaitano Tembo hints at possibility of coaching Warriors

Former Warriors defender Kaitano Tembo has hinted at the possibility of becoming the national team coach one day.

Tembo is currently with SuperSport United, a club he joined nineteen years ago as a player. He is the only Zimbabwean coach heading a team in the Absa Premiership at the moment.

In an interview with The Herald, the gaffer didn’t rule out the possibility of coaching the Warriors in the future but said his focus right now is on growing his C.V at the Pretoria side.

He said: “At the moment my focus is to make a mark at SuperSport and grow to be a better coach.

“But, at the same time, you never know what the future holds.”

The 49-year-old recently guided SuperSport to a second straight appearance in the MTN8 Cup final after eliminating cross-town rivals, league champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

He was thrust into the Matsatsansa hot seat, in August last year, on a two-year deal, after years of serving the club as a player, assistant and caretaker coach.
