Norman Mapeza’s manager Gibson Mahachi has said the contract the coach will sign at South African ABSA Premiership outfit Chippa United will have some clauses to ‘protect’ him.

The 47-year-old former FC Platinum coach was confirmed as the new Chippa coach yesterday, a club whose chairman is well known for his lack of patience when it comes to coaches.

Chippa have had over 20 coaches in the last six years due to the chairman’s lack of hesitation when it comes to sacking coaches but Mahachi insists the contractual agreements will secure Mapeza’s job.

“It’s one of the major things that we discussed and there were some clauses in the contract that we were not comfortable with because we felt that they would leave the coach exposed,’’ said Mahachi according to The Herald.

“They agreed to waive that and we also got some guarantees that protect the coach and, at the end of the day, we struck some agreement” he said.
