We worked hard as a team: Billiat

Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat has given credit to his teammates, insisiting that it was collective effort which enabled last night’s 2-0 win over Golden Arrows in the ABSA Premiership.

The 29-year-old Zimbabwe international inspired his side to a 3rd consecutive victory in the league, consolidating their place at the top of the table in the process and was duly named man of the match.

“Firstly I want to thank God for giving us strength to keep on going, three games in seven games it wasn’t easy. It took a lot of energy [out of us] and hey congratulations to the guys, we showed character, we showed professionalism and we worked as a team,” Billiat told SuperSport TV after the game.

“We stuck to the game plan, we didn’t go all out in terms of going to press them in the first minute. It really worked for us. It’s been hard for us but through working hard and following the instructions of the coach, the supporters, they never give up hey.”

“We thank God to stay injury free, we have so many injuries in the team so we really need to work hard individually to try and prevent [more] injuries. I’m so happy, I just want to give [dedicate] this to the supporters and the boys, they really worked hard,” he added.
