Tembo to use MTN8 final to save his job

SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo has been told to secure a top-four finish in the league and win one cup competition to be guaranteed an automatic contract renewal when his current deal finishes at the end of the season.

The Zimbabwean gaffer who has been with the Pretoria-based club for nearly 20 years is in the final year of his two-year contract.

According to club chief executive, Stan Matthews, the job will be as good as his, if he successfully carries out his mandate.

And with the MTN8 Cup final coming up this Saturday, Tembo could make the job half done if he wins the title against Highlands Park.

“His contract renewal depends on how he performs,” Matthews told The Daily Sun.

“If he wins the trophy, he will be able to focus on his other mandate of doing well in the league.

“This is Tembo’s moment to shine. It’s his chance to impress and for his contract to be renewed at the end of the season.”

The final will be played at Orlando Stadium and kick-off is at 6 pm.
