Prince Dube finishes CHAN Qualifiers as top scorer

Warriors striker Prince Dube finished the 2020 CHAN Qualifiers as the leading scorer with five goals.

Dube scored a hat-trick against Mauritius in the team’s 3-1 second-leg victory of the second round tie at Barbourfields Stadium in August. He was again on target in the final stage of the qualifiers, netting twice against Lesotho in Harare.

The Lesotho brace, however, was disputed at first with some media outlets erroneously crediting the second goal to Patson Jaure.

But FIFA referees’ instructor Felix Tangawarima confirmed that the Highlanders’ striker scored a brace.

Dube is followed by Ugandan forward Patrick Kaddu who has four goals.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe booked their place at next year’s CHAN finals set for Cameroon after beating Lesotho 3-1 on aggregate.
