Mapeza takes charge of first Chippa Utd game tonight

Norman Mapeza will take charge of his first match at Chippa United this evening in a Telkom Knockout clash against Bloemfontein Celtic.

The Zimbabwean gaffer took over at the struggling ABSA Premiership side at the start of this month on a three-year contract.

His appointment came after the team had gone for eight matches without a win.

Speaking ahead of the match, Mapeza said everything is heading in the right direction and they are hoping to bounce back winning ways.

“This is my third week now and everything has been going ahead as planned,” said Mapeza, according to South African news website HeraldLive.

“Everyone has been working hard at training because we are trying to bring the team back to winning ways.”

Kick-off for the match is at 7:30 pm.
