Chicksen, Bonne and Moyo back in the Warriors fold

Adam Chicksen is back in the Warriors fold after he was included in the provisional squad for next month’s Afcon qualifiers.

Chicksen who plays for Bolton Wanderers in the English League One last featured for Zimbabwe during the Four-Nations Cup played in Zambia in March 2018.

He returns to the squad along with Charton Athletic striker Macauley Bonne and Cliff Moyo of Kidderminster Harriers which participates in the National League North, the sixth tier of English football.

Bonne who couldn’t feature for the Warriors in competitive games due to passport issues is one of the big names appearing in the preliminary selection announced on Wednesday. He has been on fire in the Championship, bagging three goals in his last four games.

Moyo who also last featured for Zimbabwe in the Zambia tournament has been playing regular football at his club since moving there in the pre-season.

Also making his return to the national team selection is Anderlecht forward Knowledge Musona who was excluded in August’s World Cup qualifiers following a surgery.

He was also believed to be one of the senior players who had been banned from playing in the team, something Zifa dismissed.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe will play Botswana at home on the November 15 before travelling to Zambia four days later for their second Group H match.
