Mudimu reflects on formidable defence patnership with Hadebe

Wales-based Zimbabwe international Alec Mudimu has opened up on his understanding with Teenage Hadebe, which has resulted in the two forming a solid central defence patnership for the Warriors.

The duo is literally untouchable when it comes to being first choice for the Warriors; only an injury prevented them from playing together in all three AFCON 2019 matches in June. They were Sunday Chidzambwa’s first choice and his replacement Joey Antipas followed suit.

Speaking to Soccer24 from his base in Wales, the Cefn Druids man reflected on his patnership with the Yeni Malatyaspor man.

“There is no real secret with me and Teenage, we have great communication and are willing to work extremely hard for each other. It helps of course that we have created a bond off the pitch too, and that seems to help us connect and play as one at times too,” he said.

“I enjoy playing with Teenage of course, he brings a lot of quality to the game. So it makes my job easier too,” added the stand-in Warriors skipper.

When asked how happy he was for Hadebe after the latter was named in the Turkish Super Lig team-of-the-week, Mudimu had this to say: “It’s so important he continues his great form. I’m sure there are a few eyes on him watching from giant clubs in and around Europe. It’s massive for him and especially for Zimbabwe, It’s great to see.”
