Registrar General assures ZIFA of ‘British Brigade’ passports

The Registrar General Clement Masango has reportedly assured the country’s football governing body ZIFA that passports for Macauley Bonne, Adam Chicksen, Cliff Moyo Tivonge Rusheshe and Jordan Zemura will be out before this month’s AFCON 2021 qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia.

The five are the part of the  ‘British brigade’ ropped in by coach Joey Antipas in the Warriors 32-member provisional squad for the qualifiers but all do not have passports meaning they are not eligible for selection.

However, ZIFA and Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry worked hand-in-glove to process the applications and Masango assured the football authorities that the documents will be out in time for the matches.

“Players who applied for passports will get their passports in time for them to be eligible to represent the nation in matches against Botswana on 15 November (home) and Zambia (away) on 19 November,” said Masango according to the ZIFA Facebook page
