Dynamos end winless run as Highlanders drop points

Dynamos ended their long winless run with a 2-1 victory over Chapungu at Ascot Stadium on Wednesday.

The Glamour Boys had drawn their last eight games and the latest result put them into 5th position with 43 points.

Emmanuel Jalai scored the opening goal on the stroke of half-time to send the visiting team in front but the lead was cancelled by Denver Mukamba who scored against his former side two minutes into the second period.

Evans Katema scored the winner just moments after the hour to give Dynamos a victory.

In Bindura, Chicken Inn moved to the top of the table, at least for now, after edging Mushowani Stars 1-0.

The Gamecocks got their solitary goal from Innocent Muchaneka in the second half. They move to 52 points along with second-placed FC Platinum who also won in their Match-day 30 encounter.

The Platinum Boys beat Manica Diamonds 2-0 thanks to goals from Gift Mbweti and Rodwell Chinyengetere in either half.

Elsewhere, Highlanders left it late to salvage a point against Ngezi Platinum Stars at Barbourfields Stadium.

Goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda scored from the spot in the 84th minute to cancel out Donald Teguru’s 34th-minute effort.

The result sees Bosso drop one place on the log to number 8 with 41 points.
