Players are not horses, says Antipas

Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas has criticised the congested fixture schedule which has seen the teams playing two games in four days in recent weeks.

The Premier Soccer League has been scheduling midweek fixtures as the 2019 season fast approaches its end.

Antipas who left the Warriors camp to attend the Gamecocks’ match against Hwange on Saturday said the matches were taking a toll on the players.

“The number of games we are having these days is hectic, it’s like living in pre-historic times. You know players are not horses, there is not much we can do about it, but all this is due to poor planning,” said the coach after the game.

Chicken Inn, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw by Hwange in the Saturday’s encounter with George Majika opening the scoring in the 21st minute before Ernest Gwatima converted from the spot in the 71st minute.
