Nyoni relishing meeting Kaizer Chiefs in TKO semi-final

Maritzburg United’s Zimbabwean winger Gabriel Nyoni is relishing the prospects of playing against high-flying Kaizer Chiefs when the two sides meet in the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout on Sunday.

The 27-year-old former Highlanders man, believes the Team of Choice can cause an upset despite Amakhosi’s current form, which has seen them sitting 10 points clear at the top of the ABSA Premiership table.

“What will take us through to the final is belief and faith. Just like Jesus Christ said, if you have faith as little as a masturd seed you can say to this mountain move and it will move. And in this case the mountain in front of us is Kaizer Chiefs and only belief and hard work can take us through,” he said.

“Yes definitely its making me and everyone else work hard. And I pray I can recover faster from the injury I got the previous game against Celtic. Getting in the final will not only be good for me but for my family and my fellow Zimbabweans back home. Remember when I am here I represent everyone back home,” he said when asked if the thought of winning a cup in his debut season is making him work extra hard.

Nyoni beamoned injuries for disturbing his settling at the Maritzburg-based outfit but belives once he shrugges them off, he will be a different player.

“Every time I feel like I am now there and playing well, I get an injury. The harmstring injury I have now is the second one after the Quadricep. So injuries have been hindering my progress. But am sure once God clears my path, I will be one of the best” he said.
