The list of the African teams that have qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games is now complete following the end of the Afcon U23 tournament on Friday.

The three sides will be among 16 nations in Japan next July and August.

South Africa grabbed the final berth for Africa with a 6-5 penalty shootout victory over Ghana.

The teams clashed in the third place play-off on Friday evening and played to a 2-2 draw inside the regulation time.

Egypt and Ivory Coast are the other two representatives after receiving automatic qualification for reaching the Afcon U23 final.

The Young Pharaohs who were hosting the tournament went on to beat the West Africans 2-1 in the final to finish first.

Meanwhile, the 16 teams that will play at the Olympics next year can now include three over-age players in their squads for the tournament.
