Tenax nears promotion as Whawha returns to PSL

Tenax could seal a premiership promotion this afternoon when they face Ruwa ProGroup in a potential title decider in the Eastern Region Division One League.

The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) outfit is leading on the table and needs at least a point in the encounter to be crowned the champions. Second-placed Buffaloes require maximum points against Green Fuel and hope the log leaders lose.

Should Tenax win the league today, they will become the second ZPCS team to play in the Premier Soccer League next year after Whawha got promoted on Saturday.

The Midlands-based side won the Central Region Division One after beating Shabanie Mine 2-0.

The club is coached by John Nyikadzino whose recent stint in the PSL came last year at the now-defunct Nichrut.

Meanwhile, other teams which have already gained promotion are northern region champions Cranbourne Bullets and southern region winners Bulawayo City.
