Mapeza’s resurgent Chippa United win again as Chiefs restore 10-point gap

Norman Mapeza’s quest to steer Chippa United out of the dropzone seems to be going in the right direction after his side dispatched Black Leopards 3-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium today.

Mapeza arrived at the Port Elizabeth-based outfit to find them in a crisis, languishing at the bottom of the table with no single victory in the league but they have now registered their second victory in a row, after the 2-0 win away to Amazulu before the international break.

Thabo Rhakhale thrust them ahead as early early as the 5th minute while Augstine Kwem doubled the advantage later in the first half.

William Twala then completed the route with 6 minutes left of play as the Chilli Boys move to six points on the table.

Elsewhere, log leaders Kaizer Chiefs were taking no prisoners after their shock exit from the Telknom Knockout as they hammered Stellenbsch 4-0 in Cape Town.

Samir Nurkovic’s brace as well as Dumisani Zuma’s late striker after Siyabonga Ngezana had put them in front in the first half, ensured that Enrnst Middendorp’s men restore their ten-point lead at the summit of table.
