Mapeza discloses why Chippa United is improving

Chippa United coach Norman Mapeza says he has been working on the team’s defence so that they remain on the upward trajectory in the Absa Premiership.

The Chilli Boys have picked two successive league victories, starting with a 2-0 win over Amazulu and then beat Black Leopards 3-0 earlier this week. The second triumph led the club to within a point of safety.

“I think everywhere you go the foundation of any team is the defence, we are working on that,” said Mapeza, according to SuperSport TV.

“Everyone can see the results that we are doing in training, but it is still a work in progress. We just need to keep working hard.”

The Eastern Cape-based side will face Baroka in their next match on Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is at 3:30 pm CAT.
