Chigova looks for fresh start under new coach

The arrival of Clinton Larsen at Polokwane City will come as a reprieve for Zimbabwean goalkeeper George Chigova.

Larsen took over this week from Bernard Molekwa who was in charge of the team ‘s last two games.

Chigova, 28, lost his place in the first XI, starting on the bench in the last three games. Molekwa opted to retain Zambian shot-stopper Cyril Chibwe when he took over but the team’s bad run continued, suffering defeats at the hands of Orlando Pirates and Bloem Celtic.

The last time Chigova was between the sticks for Limpopo-based outfit was when he conceded three goals in the 5-3 defeat to Cape Town City on the 6th of November.

Polokwane City’s next match is against Maritzburg United on Sunday.
