Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has taken what appears to be a dig at his Kaizer Chiefs counterpart Ernst Middendorp over the German’s frequent complains involving Khama Billiat participating for the Zimbabwe national team.

Middendorp has on several occasions shown displeasure at how the Warriors technical team has handled star man Billiat’s fitness issues, with the player at one point supposedly returning to Naturena with a tight hamstring.

Speaking to the media ahead of Masandawana’s Telkom Knockout final against Maritzburg United on Saturday, Mosimane took a swipe at the Amakhosi coach.

“We at Sundowns understand that players must play for their national teams whenever they need to play, as long as they are declared fit, they have to play,” said Mosimane.

“This story of club coaches fighting for a player whilst he is at the national team is not nice,” he added.
