Six CLPSL teams fighting for survival on last day

Six teams will be in the fight for survival this afternoon when the curtain falls on the 2019 season of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

With two sides – Mushowani Stars and Hwange – already relegated, two other teams will complete the list with Yadah, Herentals, Chapungu, Harare City, TelOne and Bulawayo Chiefs all fighting to survive the chop.

Yadah has of late been in top form, picking twelve points out of a possible 15 in their last five games and will face Mushowani who have nothing to fight for. A win today, however, won’t decide their survival but they will have to rely also on other results, especially from the game between Chapungu and Highlanders.

The Airforce side lies just above the relegation zone and a loss will cause a slump into the drop zone should the Church Boys manage to get maximum points.

Herentals who placed in the 15th position are also in the same predicament as Yadah but are facing a tricky side, Chiefs who need at least a draw to remain in the top flight.

TelOne and Harare City also need victories today to avoid the chop and will face Chicken Inn and Ngezi Platinum respectively.
