Xavi Hernandez has reiterated that he wants to return to coach Barcelona but his return to the club will only happen under certain conditions.
The former Barca captain was approached by the Spanish giants to take over the team following the sacking of Ernesto Valverde in January, but he turned down the offer. He opted to remain in charge of Al-Sadd in Qatar.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, Xavi has revealed that he will only return unless the board brings a new sense of direction to the club.
“I am clear that I want to return to Barca, I am very excited,” he said.
“Obviously I would like to be in tune with everyone. In the dressing room, there can’t be a negative or toxic atmosphere. Everything has to fit.”
Xavi added that he would want to work with people who are familiar to him.
“I would like to come in with people from my environment that could form a good team,” he said.
