Prince Dube’s blistering start to life in the Tanzanian Premier League has seen Azam fans drooling over him, understandably so for a player who has scored six goals, provided four assists in 10 matches and showing no signs of stopping.

He was even named Player of the Month for September.

Despite that rich vein of form, Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic strangely-suggested that the 23-year-old plays in a ‘lower league’ hence the preference of other forwards in the Warriors fold.

Ironically, it is because of the form, in that same ‘lower’ league, that Logarusic called him for national duty in the first place.

“You also have David Moyo so, if you are to be realistic, we have five for the same position, and all those are playing in bigger leagues, and they are doing well,” said the Croat.

To justify that theory, the former Bosso striker found himself on the substitutions bench again for the return game against Algeria last Monday, with Logarusic opting for equally in-form Tinotenda Kadewere and Scotland-based Moyo.

When he came off the bench to level matters with his first touch, Mgandafi, as they fondly refer to him in the City of Kings, scored his 8th goal in 12 appearances at senior level for Zimbabwe.

Those figures, considering that Kadewere has scored just three goals for Zimbabwe since making his debut against Comoros in 2015, are a clear sign on of an underrated Dube,  who always delivers in gold and green but is sadly underrated.
