Mosimane eyes Champions League glory

Al Alhly coach Pitso  Mosimane will this evening lead his charges in the CAF Champions League final against Zamalek at the Cairo International Stadium seeking to make history.

The 56-year-old is the Red Devils’ first black African coach who isn’t Egyptian and is targeting is second Champions League title and Al Ahly’s 9th.

The final, billed as the ‘Game of the Century’, will take place without five players from both sides who tested positive for Covid-19.

South Africa Football Association (SAFA) chairperson Tebo Motlanthe weighed in with a good luck message to the former Sundowns coach.

“To Pitso, I would like to say good luck and if you win the title on Friday, you would not only have made yourself and your family proud but the rest of South Africa. You are a true ambassador of the country and we are proud of you. Go and make us proud because we all love and admire your honesty and professionalism. You are a true champion,” said Motlanthe in a statement.
