Warriors move up on latest FIFA rankings after Algeria games

Zimbabwe moved three places up on latest FIFA World rankings released on Thursday.

The Warriors are now on number 108, up from number 111. They gained one point to take the tally to 1181 on the world table.

The national team also moved on the African rankings, going two places up to number 25.

The movement followed after Zimbabwe’s involvement in the Afcon Qualifiers during the November international break. The team played against Algeria in back-to-back encounters, losing 3-1 in Algiers before securing a 2-2 draw in Harare.

Meanwhile, Senegal retained the first position on the continent while Belgium remained the top-ranked team in the world.

The final release of 2020 is on 10 December where the team of the year will be confirmed.
