Mapeza praying for new signings to adjust to his philosophy ahead of CL encounter

FC Platinum’s new coach Norman Mapeza has admitted that he has no clear understanding of new players in the squad ahead of their game in the Champions League today.

Mapeza spent just a week with the team following his re-appointment as the Platinum Boys head coach last week, taking over from Pieter de Jongh who was sacked on the same day.

His first assignment is on this afternoon when his side faces Costa do Sol in Maputo, Mozambique.

“A lot has changed since I left the club, new players have come in,” Mapeza said, according to the Chronicle. “I haven’t had enough time to have a definitive opinion of them, but I am sure those who were here during my time have told them of my philosophy and what I expect from my players.”

Some of the unfamiliar faces to Mapeza include Ralph Kawondera, Denzel Khumalo, Silas Songani, Congolese Elie Ilunga and Tanzanian striker Elias Maguri who all arrived this year.

Kick-off is at 3:30 Zimbabwean time.
