Tinotenda Kadewere and Marshall Munetsi are both starting in today’s Ligue 1 encounter between their respective teams Lyon and Stade de Reims.

The two players have been featuring regularly for their sides with Munetsi starting in Reims’ last four games while Kadewere has scored four goals in his previous five outings with Lyon.

Today’s clash marks the first time two Warriors players have come against each other in the French top-flight.

It’s also the first time in over two decades, two Zimbabwean players will play on opposite sides in any of Europe’s top leagues. The last time that happened was when Peter Ndlovu featured for Coventry City against Bruce Groberlaar’s Liverpool in the English Premier League in 1994.

The Lyon-Reims clash starts at 2 pm Zim time.
