Katsande goal helps Chiefs win Soweto Derby

Zimbabwean international Willard Katsande settled the Soweto derby as Kaizer Chiefs beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the ABSA Premiership.

Willard-Katsande Katsande headed in the goal in the 60th minute, his first for the club and also won the man of the match award.

The match saw four Zimbabwean internationals featuring for Kaizer Chiefs with the trio of Knowledge Musona, Willard Katsande and Kingston Nkatha starting the match while Matthew  Rusike was a late substitute.

Pirates started the better team but Kaizer Chiefs soon settled leading to chances for both sides. The teams went into the half-time break with the score line at 0-0 .

The second half started with Kaizer Chiefs having the upper hand and their pressure paid off when Katsande met Tshabalala corner kick to header in the goal.

As the game went on Pirates tried in vain to get back into the match but it was not to be.

Knowledge Musona could have weighed in with more goals for Kaizer Chiefs but saw his efforts narrowly miss the target.
