Foreign based Zimbabweans Round Up

Zimbabweans endured a weekend of mixed fortunes in leagues across Europe

Knowldge Musona (KV Oostende, Belgium)
Musona came in as an 83rd Substitute in Oostende’s 2-2 draw with Gent. Musona was introduced with Oostende trailing 2-1 and he was instrumental in creating pressure that led to a last minute goal by Mali’s Siani. The draw means Oostende slip 1 down to position 3 in the Belgium Pro League.

Marvelous Nakamba (Vitesse, Netherlands)
Nakamba started the match in a 3-1 loss to Dutch giants and Log Leaders Ajax Amsterdam. Nakamba struggled to command the midfielder like he has done in previous matches and was dully substituted in the 62nd minute.

Matthew Rusike (Halmstad, Sweden)
Already relegated Halmstad were at the receiving end in a 3-1 loss to log leaders Norrköping. Rusike started the match but was substituted in the 65th minute.

Archford Gutu who plays in the 1st Division of the Swedish league featured the entire match as his team thrashed Mjällby 4-0. Varnamo will however not be able to gain promotion in the top flight league as they sit on 9th position with 3 matches remaining.

Costa Nhamoinesu (Sparta Praha, Czech Republic)
Costa Nhamoinesu was a notable absentee in his team’s 3-0 win over relegation threatened Bohemias. The win put Sparta back to the summit of the log after slumping following last weekend’s defeat. Costa could not feature in the match as he served a 1 match ban after reaching the maximum yellow card limit.

Tendayi Darikwa (Burnley, England)
Darikwa played the entire match as Burnley edged Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship. The win moved Burnley up to 3rd position in their quest to qualify for the Barclays Premier League.

The youthful talented strike continues to endure a difficult time in England as he had to sit out the entire match in a 4-4 draw against Walsall. Bonne has failed to command a regular starting place in the team.
