Strive Masiyiwa to launch pay Sports TV Channel

Giant African sports Broadcaster DSTV through their brand should brace themselves for a challenge as Zimbabwe’s most successful businessman Strive Masiyiwa has mooted his intention to start a TV channel in Africa that will cover Intertainment and Sport.

Masiyiwa who is founder and Owner of Econet global pre emptied his latest business venture on his ever popular facebook page. The TV channel will be known as Kwese TV – a shona name which translates to ‘Everything or Everywhere’ in English.

“As Econet Global, we’re about to roll out a unique Pay TV service known as Kwesé TV which will offer exclusive sports and entertainment programming to African markets.” Said Masiyiwa.

The business will be build on the success of econet and judging by the man’s operations no doubt it will be big.

Econet is arguably the most successful mobile network operator in the continent while His company Liquid fibre is the largest builder on fibre on the continent.

His success in internet pernetration will be the backborne of his project to bring direct TV to homes across Sub Saharan Africa.

The highlights on the Sports content has already been shown through a newly set website Kwese Sports which shows international content such as the Spanish LaLiga and the English Premier League.
