The Mighty Warriors who this year wrote a piece of history by becomung the first football team in Zimbabwe to qualify for a FIFA World tournament following their maiden Olympic qualification have been nominated for an Award by CAF for the women National team of the year.
The Zimbabwe women national team qualified for Rio Oympics against all odds eliminating Cameroon and Zambia along the way.
They will tassle out against Ghana, South Africa and Cameroon for the award.
The list was unveiled at a press conference attended by CAF Excutive member Anjorin Moucharafou and Glo representatives on Monday, 14 December 2015 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The winners will be decided by votes from the CAF Footbal land Media Committees except Legend and Platinum awards, which are not subject to vote while Referee of the Year Award will be decided by the votes of CAF Refereeing Committee.
The winners will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala scheduled for Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Abuja, Nigeria. The night will also reveal the African player of the year where Yaya Toure, Dede Ayew and Emerik Aubameyeng will tassle for the priced award
