ZIFA will now engage Callisto Pasuwa for dialogue following a Public outcry that followed the sacking of the popular gaffer.
Calisto Pasuwa and his entire backroom was fired in huff by ZIFA being accused of unproffesionalism and putting the National team at Ransom.
Newly appointed ZIFA President Chiyangwa took heed the call by the minister of Sport to reinstate Pasuwa.
Chiyangwa has set a High performance technical committee led by chairman Edzai Kasinauyo that will today meet Pasuwa to find common ground.
Dr Chiyangwa’s statement in full reads:-
I, Dr Phillip Chiyangwa, the President of Zimbabwe Football Association have respectfully heeded to Minister of Sport and Recreation Honourable Makhosini Hlongwane’s call to come out of my leave and address the sacking of the technical team led by Kalisto Pasuwa and African Nations Championship (CHAN) preparations.
Consequently, I have dispatched Executive committee member and High performance technical committee chairman Edzai Kasinauyo to meet Mr Pasuwa tomorrow (Saturday) and find an amicable solution. I have also instructed Mr Kasinauyo to produce a detailed report which I shall discuss with Honourable Minister Hlongwane on Sunday (20 December 2015).
ZIFA is ready to address public concerns regarding the sacking of Mr Pasuwa and African Nations Championship (CHAN) preparations.
We appeal to members of the football fraternity and the nation at large to remain calm as we find lasting solutions to problems bedevilling our beautiful game.
Football should ultimately be the winner.
