The winner of the 4th Edition of Orange African Nations Championship to be hosted by Rwanda starting on the 16th is set to pocket 750, 000 USD while the runner-up will leave with 400,000 USD.
Though the Confederation of African Football (CAF) are yet to reveal the prize money ahead of the tournament which they normally do on the the course of it. The Chronicle confirmed the figures after a communique with CAF.
The prize monies are the same as the previous tournament in South Africa.
Libya smiled home with $750k in 2014; same as what the CAF Champions League runner up gets, after their victory over Ghana at the Cape Town Stadium, witnessed by 16,505 spectators.
Nigeria won bronze defeating Zimbabwe 1-0, and as losing semi finalists were both rewarded $250k.
CHAN 2016 tournament will take place in Rwanda from 16 January till 7th of February.
A total of 16 national teams will share 3,2 million USD, the rest of the prizes area as following:
