The Warriors of Zimbabwe are set to battle Madagascar in a much anticipated COSAFA clash on Wednesday as the Warriors seeks to put themselves in positive position to qualify for the quarter finals.
The Warriors are tied on 3 points with Madagascar after both teams won their opening encounters, with Zimbabwe only on top because of a superior goal difference. A win for the Warriors will move them clear at the top.
Soccer24 can authoritatively report that both teams are not new to each other as they have previously met at the senior level 6 times.
The Warriors have never lost in a senior match against the Oceanians winning four of those encounters, drawing 2.
The two teams last met last year in group stages of the COSAFA tournament with the game ending goalless.
Zimbabwe’s biggest win against the opponent was way back in 1985 where the Warriors won 5-2.
