Warriors strikers ready for Cup final

Sunday Chidzambwa and the Warriors know they will have to dig deep on Sunday to make history in South Africa – but the strikers Knox Mutizwa and Talent Chawapiwa are confident that the team is ready for the biggest occasion of all – COSAFA Cup Final against bitter rivals Zambia.

To win, the Warriors will need to make their own history and become the first nation to lift the cup five times.

Mutizwa justified his inclusion in the starting line up by scoring a hattrick in the semi final battle against Lesotho in which the Warriors came tops 4-3 in the duel.

Speaking to ZIFA’s official website zifa.org.zw, Mutizwa and fellow striker Talent Chawapiwa who has arguably the best goal of the tournament so far expressed confidence that they will get be better of the Nothern neighbours.

‘I came in as a substitute and scored the winner against Swaziland and the coaches put their trust me and gave mee a starting place in the next match and I scored a hattrick, so am confident we can win the cup,’ Mutizwa said.

But fellow hitman Talent Chawapiwa believes the final would be pound for pound.

‘They (Zambia) are just like us, they like to attack and they are one of the best teams in Africa right now.

‘But we are the team with the momentum right now and we are beginning to gel and we are the team to beat. We are more than confident,’ Chawapiwa said.
