Bantu Rovers appoint new Captain

Defender Kudzaishe Dzingwe has been elevated to be Bantu Rovers’ captain following Bukhosi Sibanda’s move to soth Africa’s Ubuntu Capetown FC.

Dzingwe was the club’s assistant captain until his appointment seeing him take reigns from scoring hero Bukhosi Sibanda who was signed by Ubuntu Cape Town F who play in the 2nd tier of the ABSA Premiership.

At just 18 years old, Dzingwe was elevated by virtue of being the longest serving player in the team having started from the Under-14s.

Speaking to the club’s website coach Methembe Ndlovu explained the appointment.

“The basic reason for having him as our captain is not only loyalty but that he is the longest serving player. We have always recognised our longest serving players and the loyalty that they have shown the club,” said Bantu Rovers’ coach methembe Ndlovu.

He added: “He has been with us since under-14 and all the players that we have at the moment found him in the system. He understands Bantu Rovers and has represented the club well. Kudzi is a good player, he is well disciplined and hard working.”

His first call of action will be in Matchday 20 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League against Triangle at Gibbo.
