Chicken Inn coach Rahman Gumbo is optimistic his team is on the right track to win the title after an away win in Harare on Saturday.
The former champions made use of their chances and scored the only goal of the match through their captain Moses Jackson in the 63rd minute with a flashing header. The Gamecocks are now on pole position with 45 points.
During the post match interview Gumbo said his team has made a bold statement by beating Black Rhinos away from home.
“We are seeing ourselves how far we can go and collecting maximum points is good for us. We are going for the championship and beating a strong team like Rhinos away can show we are going (for the title). We are making our statement very straight forward”, he said.
Chicken Inn has made it seven games without losing. Their next assignment will be against Hwange at home.
Meanwhile, Ngezi Platinum Stars are playing on Sunday and the pressure are on them to win if they are to reclaim pole position.
