Legendary Black Rhinos coach Stanford ‘Stix’ Mutizwa has been given a vote of confidence by club secretary-general Camble Sithole.
Mutizwa has presided over a run of results which has seen Rhinos slip to 8th in Castle Lager Premiership after failing to win since June.
The weekend’s 0-1 defeat Chicken Inn was the team’s fifth in a row and has intensified calls from supporters for Mutizwa to be sacked.
But in an Interview with the Herald, Sithole says the team put faith on their coach, insisting Mutizwa is the man to lead the club to safety.
“M’tizwa retains the club’s support and trust for now. I cannot say what will happen in future but we are backing him,’’ said Sithole.
“M’tizwa is a great coach. Nobody doubts that. He is a proven coach and has years of experience as a player and coach to back that up.
“He has his own way of doing things, and has shown what he can do so far.
“We might not be happy with the team’s inconsistent run but we have to stick with him for now. We don’t have a reputation of hiring and firing on a regular basis.”
Rhinos next encounter will be a tricky assignment against Caps United at the National Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
