South African Dino Ndlovu then equalised in the 63rd minute, only for Copenhagen to regain the lead just three minutes later through Andrija Pavlovic. The match ended 2-2 on aggregate and Qarabag became the first Azerbaijan to reach the group stages.

The Russian giants comfortably booked their place with a 2-0 home win. Georgi Schennikov and Alan Dzagoev were the scoreres on the night.

Apoel Nicosia went through thanks to a 0-0 draw in Prague.
