Highlanders coach Erol Akbay’s proposal to re-instate his former assistant Cosmas Zulu back in to the team hit a snug when the club executive refused to allow that.
Zulu was demoted to the junior levels for inappropriate contact which resulted in a fight with fellow assistant coach Amini Soma Phiri.
Phiri resigned from his post and will be replaced by Melusi Sibanda.
However Akbay wanted Zulu back in the technical to replace Soma Phiri instead, but the club promoted Sibanda who is a developmental side coach. The club believes they are the ones who have authority to appoint a new coach and will not be led by what their head coach wants.
In a letter to the club, the Dutchman accused Soma Phiri of sabotage and he also wanted Zulu to be his assistant.
The Bosso coach told ZBC yesterday that he didn’t believe the newly Sibanda had the right coaching credentials to assist him.
